Blerify Wallet is a mobile app that allows you to receive, store, and present your digital driver’s license. It also works as a digital identity app where you can manage other personal digital credentials securely from your phone, receive notifications from entities you have authorized, and authenticate yourself with your digital credentials on websites and other apps.
What is the purpose of the digital driver’s license?
The digital license serves as an official document equivalent to the physical version.
You can use it to identify yourself before traffic authorities, during roadside checks, and soon for online procedures and validations with other public or private institutions.
Through the Blerify Wallet app, you can also receive notifications about fines, access the payment link, and view your fine history.
What can I show with my mDL?
In addition to your full digital license, you can choose to show:
That you have a valid license,
Your date of birth or age,
Your photo,
A simplified version of your data, if you prefer.
Privacy and Data Protection
What information is stored in the wallet?
Only digital credentials that you explicitly choose to receive, such as your digital driver’s license, are stored. This credential contains your driver data in a structured and secure format, compliant with the international standard ISO/IEC 18013-5.
What information does Blerify have access to?
Blerify does not have access to your credentials or personal data.
All data is stored locally on your mobile device, and you decide when and with whom to share it. Blerify only provides the technology that enables you to manage and present your digital credentials, such as the digital driver’s license, in a private and secure way.
Blerify only securely stores aggregate data, such as the number of licenses issued, verifications performed, and notification logs. We follow the ISO 27001 data management guidelines.
What happens if I lose my phone?
If you lose your phone, you can recover your digital wallet on another device, as long as you previously configured a secure backup. The Blerify Wallet app guides you step by step to save your wallet to your private cloud (iCloud or Google Drive).
For security reasons, your digital license is linked to your device. If you change phones, the previous license is revoked, and a new one is issued. This process can be started easily from the Blerify Wallet app when installing it on your new device, or you can request assistance directly from the license issuer.
How are my data and digital credentials protected?
Your credentials are encrypted and stored exclusively on your device. Only you can access them via biometric authentication, PIN, or passcode. All data exchanges are verifiable and cryptographically signed, ensuring you always maintain full control. We recommend using the same device-level security method you already use to also protect the app. Keep in mind that if you set a unique PIN for the app and forget it, you won’t be able to access your credentials again.
Who can verify my mDL?
Verifying entities (like police, institutions, or businesses) can scan a dynamic QR code from your app, which generates a verifiable presentation of your data. The verifier will only receive the information you choose to share.
Recovery and Support
What happens if I forget my app PIN?
If you set a custom PIN and forget it, you will not be able to access your credentials and will need to request them again. This is why we recommend using your phone’s existing protection method (biometric or passcode). You can also contact Blerify support for assistance.
Standards and Compatibility
What standards does the digital driver’s license follow?
The digital license issued by Sertracen using Blerify technology follows the ISO/IEC 18013-5 international standard, which defines how mobile driver’s licenses (mDLs) should be structured and verified.
This standard is widely adopted in the United States and the European Union, and several Latin American countries are starting to adopt it too. In the future, this could enable international interoperability—meaning your digital license could be recognized and verified in other countries that adopt the same standard. We also use modern standards like Verifiable Credentials, Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs), and the OpenID4VP protocol.
Additionally, we use the Avalanche blockchain network to ensure integrity and security.
Where can I use my mDL?
Your mDL can be used:
At traffic stops
To validate your identity with institutions that accept mDLs
In the future, in countries that recognize the ISO/IEC 18013-5 standard

What else can I use Blerify Wallet for?
Beyond your driver’s license, Blerify Wallet allows you to receive and present other digital credentials, such as student IDs, professional or retiree credentials, or memberships to communities or ecosystems like investment clubs or chambers of commerce, as more institutions join the digital ecosystem.

You can back up your licenses to your Google account (Android) or iCloud (Apple). When you reinstall the app or switch devices, you’ll be able to restore your credentials easily.
